(Albuquerque, NM) The Indiana Invaders' James O'Brien finished 4th in the 800 meter run with his first finals appearance at the USA Indoor National Track & Field Championships.

O'Brien took advantage of his opportunity with a personal indoor best time of 1:49.09 for 800 meters in his first USA National Championship Final after having made the Sunday Finals of the 800 Meter Run with a third place finish (race video) in his section (results) on Saturday. James "Jimmy" O'Brien in his second season on the Indiana Invaders roster maked his third USA National Championship appearance after having competed in the USA Indoor & Outdoor National Championships at 800 meters in 2010.

Coach Greg Harger said, "Jimmy ran very sound tactical races on back to back days which is critical in the 800 at this level. His ability to focus on racing the field on the track and understanding that round one is about advancing will continue to foster success at USA Nationals in the future". Harger added, "O'Brien had not left the building before recognizing that he was pleased with the day's results while not feeling satisfied. His recognition of the work and challenges ahead to fulfill his potential are very encouraging".

The Indiana Invaders, a not-for-profit organization competing at USA National Championships since 1999, provide a resident-based, athlete-centered support system based in Indianapolis, Indiana.
