The Indiana Urban Wilderness Run (Walk & Hike)

The inaugural Indiana Urban Wilderness Run will be held Saturday, June 13, in conjunction with the American Milers Club High Performance Series weekend.

Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium.  Discover and support the developing Urban Wilderness Trail with a Run/Walk/Hike and then catch an evening or two at the American Milers Club High Performance Series watching "future Olympians" and some of the fastest 800, Milers and Steeplechase runners in North American race for spots at USA Nationals and on other International Teams.

Collegiate Running Association (CRA) will be conducting their inaugural National Trail Championships during the Indiana Urban Wilderness Trail Run.  Membership to the CRA is free to anyone who has taken a college level course between January 1 & June 13, 2015.  A $6,000 prize money purse will be available for the top 5 men’s and top 5 women’s CRA members. Rules have changed for collegians with eligibility regarding prize monies.  Eligibility FAQ link Participants in the CRA Trail Championship receive a Free Pass (just show your race number at entry gate) to American Milers Club High Performance Series each evening of competition.

The trail course utilizes urban park space that has been established as part of an initiative called the Green Corridor Extension Project. The recently created course is made up of a mixture of single-track dirt trails, grass and limestone paths, with funding support through Eskenzi Health and other founding sponsors, including ROW, working in partnership with Indy Parks and White River State Park.

The annual Indiana Urban Wilderness Run is being established to fund the annual care and maintenance of what will soon be named The Urban Wilderness Trail.  The more than 100 acres will serve as an outdoor education classroom, wellness green space and river corridor habit sanctuary all in the heart of downtown Indianapolis.
