Indiana Invaders At Stan Lyons InvitationalPublished by
April 22, 2010 (Indianapolis) The Indiana Invaders make a return, after several years absence, to the Stan Lyons Invitational in downtown Indianapolis on the Famed Carroll Stadium Track. Hosted by the Butler University on Saturday April 24th, the Stan Lyons Invitational has added a high performance component to the meet for 2010 that will provide some national class race opportunities. Nathaniel "Nate" Browning will lead off the fast times for the Indiana Invaders on this Saturday afternoon in the 400 meter dash. Mason Cathey, coming off her USA National Championship qualify Steeplechase race at the Sea Ray Relays two weeks ago will race both 800 & 1500 meter races. USA National Indoor qualifier James "Jimmy" O'Brien will race his first outdoor 800. Adrian Myers will race his first 1500 of the season and rounding out the roster will be 800 meter runner, Ricardo “Ricky” Bell, dropping down to race a 400. Coach Greg Harger said, "With Butler Track & Field making an effort to initiate this year and possibly grow more high performance opportunities in the future, we were definitely in to support their initiative here in our community" Harger added, "Browning, O’Brien & Myers races will be focused efforts at distances where we expect to see them posting USA qualification marks during this season. Mason’s race outings at 800 & 1500 will have tactical goals as a first priority. Ricky Bell’s outing at 400 meters will help us further evaluate his excellent progress over the past two years from back surgery". The Indiana Invaders, a not-for-profit organization competing at USA National Championships since 1999, provide a resident-based, athlete-centered support system based in Indianapolis, Indiana.
