This is Smith's second consecutive year as the only 400 meter hurdler in the 60H finals.

Team Director Greg Harger said, "As a team we brought four athletes ranked in the top 10 and two ranked in the top 5 and came out of the meet with four top 10 finishes and two in the top five. We had a great competitive effort out of Wilson. Now we'll take a brief break and hopefully have the best outdoor season we've ever had."

Overall the Invaders placed well in New York with Toyinda Wilson taking third in the weight throw, Phelps placing fourth in the long jump, Carri Long took sixth in the high jump, and Smith finished seventh in the 60H.
