great for our organization to have an athlete such as Hunter be invited
to this very prestigious road mile. As we continue to support and

like the New York Road Runners Club that recognize the value of true
resident based athlete development initiatives."

INDIANA INVADERS' NEHUS TO COMPETE ON USA WORLD TEAM
September 12, 2006
(INDIANAPOLIS) Indiana Invaders' Erin Nehus will compete on the USA
National Team at the 2006 IAAF World Road Running Championship that
will take place in Debrecen, Hungary on October 8. The championship is
a 20k road race that will be contested on a 5,000 meter criterium-loop
through the streets of Debrecen.
Nehus, competing on her first USA National Team, is the eighth Indiana
Invader athlete to wear the USA jersey and compete for the United States
in international competition. Invaders athletes have competed at the
Olympic Games, World Indoor & Outdoor Track & Field Championships, World
Cross Country Championships, and now the World Road Running Championships.
Nehus is one of five US female athletes competing in this inaugural 20K
World Road Running Championship. The top three finishers will score in
the competition for the nations team. A total of $245,000 of total
prize money is available to the top 6 individual athletes and the top
six teams.
During the 2006 season Nehus has competed at the USA World Cross Country
Trials, USA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships, and USA 20K
National Championships. Nehus was a top 10 USA finisher in both the 20K
championship and indoor 3000 championship races. In 2005, Nehus was 5th
at the USATF National Club Cross Country Championship.
Team Director Greg Harger said, "It's encouraging to see athletes living
and training in Indiana making US National Teams. It takes tremendous
committment and dedication to be in a position to make a US Team. Nehus
has taken her athletic training seriously as part of her focus on the
2008 Olympic season and this will be a great experience for her. Nehus
is excited about this opportunity to represent our country, community,
and club in such an event." Harger added, "Indiana has the athletic
talent and local resources necessary to have a much larger impact on US
National Teams than we have had over the past several decades. We are
currently planning to marshall our combined energy and resources on
developing additional support for Indiana athletes as we head toward the
Olympic Trials and Olympic Games of 2008."

INDIANA INVADERS ADD NCAA DIV III CHAMPION JULIA RUDD
September 12, 2006
(INDIANAPOLIS) The Indiana Invaders have added 11-time All-American and
NCAA Division III steeplechase champion Julia Rudd, a graduate of UW-La
Crosse and Oshkosh West High (WI), to the team's roster.
As an 11-time All-American, Rudd's top performances at the NCAA Division
III Championships included national runner-up honors in Cross Country in
2005, fifth in the indoor 5000 in 2006, and eighth in the indoor 5000 in
2004. In the steeple chase Rudd won the outdoor championship in record
time in 2004 and was third in 2002, 2005 and 2006.
While at UW-La Crosse, Rudd set school records in the Steeple, 3000 and
5000. She was also nominated for the 2006 NCAA Woman of the Year.
Team Director Greg Harger said, "Rudd has shown glimpses of her athletic
abilities at the collegiate level. We see her potential and we're
excited to add her to the team." Coach Harger added, "Her enthusiasm is
contagious and she brings a very high level of energy to the training
environment."
Rudd joins a team that had 16 athletes qualify for both the 2000 and the
2004 US Olympic Trials.

INVADERS' NEHUS POSTS TOP TEN USA NATIONAL 20K FINISH
September 5, 2006
(INDIANAPOLIS) Indiana Invaders' Erin Nehus finished ninth at the USA
20K Championships in New Haven, Connecticut with her debut effort in a
USA National Road Championship on September 4th. Nehus' 1:11:03 effort
in finishing 9th made her eligible for roster selection on the USA World
Road Running Championships scheduled for October 8th in Debrecen,
Hungary. The USA Team roster is expected to be finalized by September 10th.
Nehus, a graduate of Cedarville University and currently working on a
graduate degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Indianapolis,
is a nine time NAIA All-American. Nehus faced several Olympians and
National Champions in arguably the deepest 20K USA Championship
historically for women as she ran the fastest 9th place time in the
history of the championship.
Nehus' teammate Stephanie Dueringer finished 22nd with a personal best
1:14:49 effort as she prepares for a fall Olympic Trials marathon
qualifying attempt.
Coach Greg Harger said, "Nehus ran a solid conservative debut USA Road
Championship race against the deepest field in the championship's
history. Her time would have placed her fourth in last year's race. We
haven't begun her speed training yet so this was a good run for Nehus
based only on her strength and base training." Harger added, "Nehus is
fresh off a breakthrough season with her first competitions at the USA
Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships along with the USA World
Cross Country Trials plus a few personal best times so this is not a
major surprise and hopefully leads to further breakthroughs and
opportunities in the coming months and years."
